The event – on Thursday 5 October – will see a number of stand-ups taking to the stage, including BBC New Comedy Awards semi-finalist Matt Reed who has appeared alongside everyone from Sean Lock and Frankie Boyle to Sarah Millican.

Join us for a night full of laughs as The Bridges Shopping Centre bring you some of the most exciting comedy talent the North has to offer in collaboration with The Point Events Venue, all for a great cause!

The Comedy Night will be supporting the national One Great Day event which will donate 100% of its proceeds raised to two incredible charities: Great Ormond Street Hospital and Red Sky Foundation.

The night be in headlined by Matt Reed and hosted by Sammy Dobson, two well-known comedy acts from the Northeast and supported by Gareth Waugh and Joe McTernan, hilarious talent from Scotland. As well as a brilliant show, there'll be plenty of opportunities to win prizes and enjoy some music.

Music is Life: An Evening for Joe.

Friday the 7th of July 2023

Music is Life: An Evening for Joe will be a celebration of Joe Wilson's life and the music he so loved.

For those who didn't know Joe, he was a significant part of the amateur theatre scene across the region. He worked with numerous communities, schools and colleges, providing outstanding musical direction, encouragement and passion. He collaborated with many, created so much and was truly in awe of music and the power it holds. Unfortunately, Joe is no longer with us, but has left a lasting impact on many. It is for that reason this night will take place, an evening for him.

Half of all proceeds will go to "Addictions North-East", a charity very close to Joe's heart.
